About Mount Lookout
Mount Lookout, Ohio is one of Cincinnati's eastern neighborhoods, northwest of Mount Washington, west of the Cincinnati Zoo, and is named for the Mount Lookout Observaory (founded in 1843) which is operated by the physics department of the University of Cincinnati. The Observatory houses the world's oldest telescope, two National Historic Landmark buildings, and is a participant in the International Year of Astronomy. With several nearby universities, Mount Lookout is also popular with those students as well as working professionals in their 20's and 30's who are looking for a lively night life. There are different types of restaurants including a number of Thai ones like Ruthai's Thai Kitchen. Although the dining area is small, the food is excellent, plentiful, and at a reasonable price. Known for its seafood (especially the Shrimp Tempura), its noodle dishes are also fantastic. Millions Cafe and Mount Lookout Tavern have music provided by local and regional bands, and MLT on Tuesday nights has non-stop karaoke. If you prefer live blues music, walk over to One-Eyed Jack's. If you'd rather not be around the college crowd, go to Muz's that will remind you of the Cheers bar in the TV program. And for the Best Burger in Cincinnati, go to Zipp's nearby!
